AFCI
An Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter (AFCI) is an electrical safety device that detects abnormal arcing conditions, such as damaged wires or loose connections, to prevent electrical fires. It continuously monitors the electrical current, identifies arc faults, and quickly interrupts the circuit to stop the flow of electricity. AFCIs are used today to enhance fire prevention, comply with electrical safety codes, provide additional protection beyond traditional circuit breakers, and promote awareness of electrical fire hazards. By detecting and mitigating arc faults, AFCI systems significantly improve safety in residential and commercial buildings.
